Can Cellphones Use the Web 2.0 Applications?

Experts said that mobile phones will not be able to use many of Web 2.0 services due to some constraints. For example, Google Maps is built on Ajax (like many other Web 2.0 services). Ajax pushes data to the client device which speeds up future user requests but on a mobile phone, decreases fast battery life and chuck up the limited memory onboard. There is still a solution to have Web 2.0 services for mobile phones but slight adjustment is made so that users can download without any hassle to their phones. ShoZu manage to do this by providing a service specifically designed for mobile users which employs a client on phones to help users upload photos, videos to the Web, and manage their Flickr pages (such as give comments to photos via their phones). So there’s no need to lug around a laptop for holidays.
Experts: Web 2.0 doesn’t copy directly to phones

even some of the web 1.0 apps aren’t working on mobiles - take mobilealibi.com - my stinkin’ blackberry is too old to see their site. When are manufacturers / web site designers going to get in a room together and make a standard?
Isn’t that what XHTML is? Mobile related devices show pages alot better with that…
(Duh!)
I notice that when looking at the MobileAlibi.com website, it’s not XHTML at all. Just plain old HTML.
