Find 2.0

2cworth,

Quite a number of people consider Google to be the top search tool - according to Searchenginewatch, it’s a shade below half of all searches. But is that really the best option.

For general searches, maybe. But if you’re looking for some specific information, do you really fancy wading through a gazillion links to find the one that you’re looking for? Especially when you’re not too sure of knowing which answer is right?

Enter any number of niche search-and-answer contenders.
Kosmix offers niche searches on health, finance, travel and US politics. Why US politics? Probably with each candidate searching for dirt on his opposition, there’s a heckuva bunch of searches there.

Twerq serves up Google results in tabbed pages. Now, I’m not sure how that becomes better, but hey - it’s 2.0, after all.

Zoominfo has a nifty business people search. It aggregates web information about people and links together their profile. So before you decide to get creative with your resume, check out your profile there. And make sure you get any spotty details corrected.
