Would You Get Your Website Certified at Certifyr?
October 31, 2006 |
Judging by the Google’s PageRank of Certifyr.com, which is 7/10 (shown in Firefox 2.0 browser) as at 31st October 2006, it looks like a lot of people are flocking to this Web 2.0 site to… what else… if not getting their website certified as Web 2.0 compliant.
And what would you think the criteria used for certification? Hold your breath….
What is your website address?
What’s on your site? (separated by spaces):
Example: blog streamingvideo ecommerce humor video searchengineWhat’s your site about? (separated by spaces):
Example: politics recipes videogames heavymetal modernartYour website contains:

Big fonts

Silly or misspelled name
“Beta”
AJAX
Community content
“Something”-sharing
Bright colors and/or pink
Rounded corners
Use of Google maps

Podcast/video/mobile content
Am I kidding you? Nope…but I certainly think Certifyr is kidding me and all those visitors pushing the PageRank to 7/10. Surely, some of those criteria mentioned are elements that are featured at Web 2.0 sites, but ’rounded corners’, ‘bright colors and/or pink’… he he he… great criteria for certification.
But then, with the confusion of what Web 2.0 is, I wouldn’t blame Certifyr for having its own definition and criteria for evaluating a website’s Web 2.0 compliant… which brings another question… is Certifyr certified to certify?
Out of curiosity, I checked Profy.com and here are what I input:
What is your website address? www.profy.com
What’s on your site? blog
What’s your site about? web 2.0
Your website contains:
(Check all that apply)
Big fonts (checked)
(Note: other criterias may also apply but I just checked one to see how it comes out)
Click ‘Get Certified’ and tataaaa……
Official score? 6%. I wonder what is the passing mark…..
