Famster is for social networking emphasizing on families. When you register, you can create a family tree with as many branches as you want, create the family blog with photo albums and much more. There are other features such as reminders, calendars, fast streaming videos, recipes, file cabinets and famster mapper on the list. For the kids, you can use the character studio, theme park, scrapbooks and the ubiquitous guestbook.
Since 1992, Famster has hosted and designed many business web sites and due to the phenomenal growth of the internet, it is expected to hit the million mark in a couple of years. They have envisioned a secure family-oriented online community, where you and your loved ones could safely learn, share, organize and play without fear of being pursued by online predators or having your personal information and content compromised.
Once you’ve finished creating cartoon versions of your family of the character studio, the fun really begins. You can choose from hundreds of themes, upload your favorite photos from your computer or any component. Using Photoshare to customize your background in any way you want, the theme park has so much flexibility that you can be confident to create just the perfect site background every day of the week.
Famster is certainly your family home on the internet. It wants to give you and your family plenty of room to grow into your new home. Thanks to comments from the Digg community, here’s what you can get with your Famster:
- 1GB of Filing Cabinet storage
- 1GB of Encoded Video storage
- Unlimited Photo uploads
- Unlimited Scrapbook pages
- Unlimited Blog entries
- 1GB of @famstermail.com storage
- 1GB per unique domain name email storage

I have a family web site at Famster. While I love the:
- Private online networking space for your family and friends,
- Lack of advertising,
- Easiest-to-use blogging tool, and
- Unlimited space for photos and videos
I am frustrated by some of the “obvious” things they can do to make the site more intuitive and user- and visitor-friendly.
That’s why I’ve launched my blog at http://www.ILoveFamster.com.
Through it, I share what I think is both fabulous and frustrating about Famster. If you are a current, former, or potential Famster user, stop by and share your thoughts.
