Yourminis: A Homepage That’s Ahead Of The Class
by
on November 13, 2006,
Michael Arrington over at Techcrunch shined a light on one of the coolest finds I???ve seen in a while. If you???re into customizable homepages (Pageflakes, Google Ig), give Yourminis a whirl. From the makers of Goowy, a flash-based productivity suite, Yourminis is a start page following in the same vein, only instead of Ajax working magic behind the scenes, Macromedia???s mainstay for producing eye candy is turning tricks here.
You???ll get your weather, news, some rss picks, windows for YouTube, Flickr feeds, and even email notifications. A ???Tabs??? feature is present at the top, so you won???t have opt for certain widgets/gadgets over others if you start crowding the first window. A menu is hidden by default to the right, but is accessible via one click to the ???Add Content??? button at the top left of the page. Inside, you???ll find just about every important resource you???d want. Click or drag to place an option on the screen.
You have to see it to really appreciate the beauty and simplicity of Yourminis, so do yourself a favor: stop reading this and start trying it out for yourself. This is a great addition to Goowy Media Inc.???s portfolio that???s bound to get a great deal of attention and traffic coming its way fast.
Well, what are you waiting for? Go check it out!
