Warcraft Social Network: Now Converse Out-of-Game Too!

Paul Glazowski,

The World of Warcraft player base is large enough to be considered a community, don’t you think? I think so. A number of other folks think so too. So being an entrepreneurial bunch, they decided to launch a network to pass those hours of downtime away conversing with fellow guild members and the such.

Warcraft Social Network is the name, and well, World of Warcraft is their game. There, players can post profiles, share thoughts, stories, ideas, and it’s all themed to fit in nicely with Blizzard’s multi-platinum MMORPG aesthetics.

A Webware (CNet) blogger, Nicole Lee, vouched for its quality interface, stating, “This could be a way to finally avoid the annoying pickup group full of people who are simply incompatible with your play style.”

Soon-to-be-released features will include the significant addition of ‘Guild Pages’, a service that allows your guild to easily create your own customized meeting ground for those out-of-game gathers you currently do through Skype or whathaveyou.

Warcraft Social might end up the destination of choice for millions of the game’s current and future subscribers. As many already know, word in the gaming world spreads like wildfire, so let’s hope their servers are just as robust as Blizzard’s!
