Ray’s Web 2.0 Business Minitests: Ere.net, the Recruiter Community

bel3bel,

A lot of Web 2.0 portals are about recruitment. This site is totally focused on recruiters and partners for recruiters. So if you don’t have a background or any interest in recruitment, this is not the portal you will be interested in.

But then again most of us, me included, are always on the lookout for a new or a better job, so it could be interesting to become a member and network with recruiters and headhunters.

Ere.net gives you all the opportunity to do that. Naturally you have to write your profile in which you state your interest in the recruitment community, but I guess that would be easy enough.

Once you are in you will find thousands of recruiters and headhunters which are neatly grouped by geographic regions, topic-groups and roles (vendor, company recruiter, etc.). You can easily build a network by inviting people to your profile and start networking for jobs. So, you have to be creative and personal in your approach once you are in to make the most use out it.

It has an email solution but unfortunately there is no Skype / IM integration and I am totally missing a link towards the most essential asset of a recruiter portal; the candidates! It is also missing services to handle specific recruitment functions and help with deals between the members.

Summary

Ere.net is one of the leading specific interest group community portals. Its’ community is truly worldwide. Use your imagination to make the most out of it. You can, it is not very rigid. They will have to invest to stay on top and move towards a real service for recruiters. If they had a strong database of candidates, like the one the Blue Chip Network is currently building and integrated project management services for their members, it would really help the business of their members.

4) Effective business use
