Eric Meyer’s Ode to Architects of Charm

Paul Glazowski

Web 2.0 didn’t come down from the heavens. There was no anointment of a few O’Reilly disciples destined to spread the word. No one preached any secrets. It was evolution, and evolution that further develops something okay into good into better into the best so far.

Eric Meyer over at Thinkvitamin seems to know this well, and he wrote up this thoughtful, perhaps prosaic piece about design. Everyone loves using the latest and greatest app, whether it’s web-based like the Think Free office suite, or desktop-run gems like Google Earth. But not enough gets said about the people that make these things so truly enjoyable. Meyer does them justice in this short, yet witty ode to all for making things both visually pleasing and functional.

Read Meyer’s shout-out to sketchers, drafters, and drawers everywhere.
