If you browse the web frequently and read a lot of blogs related to web 2.0, you will definitely know who Michael Arrington is. But, if you haven’t heard of him yet, let me share a little bit of him. He is the founder of Techcrunch, the website that specializes in profiling and reviewing new Internet products and companies. So, eventually, we will need to talk about Techcrunch for all this to make sense. Exactly what makes Techcrunch to be so successful?
Perhaps it’s because it’s focused on web 2.0 startups, and this allows startups and potential venture capitalists to meet in one place. So, if you think your startup is unique and worthy to be featured on Techcrunch, then you should send him an email. Who knows, maybe you are lucky enough to be one of the companies featured on Techcrunch. Even if you don’t get funding, you will surely get floods of traffic to your website, and that of course is a good thing to get more exposure.
Although Michael Arrington is said to be controversial and prone to have conflicts of interest, but he somehow always manages to get through it all. Of course, when you’re well-known, there are going to be a lot of fans and unfortunately, haters as well. So, Michael Arrington is not an exclusion. Perhaps it’s because of his sphere of influence in the web 2.0 is growing.
Anyway, he has an ambition to make Techcrunch network to be as large as that of News.com in 2 years’ time. Based on his vast experience, he surely has a plan. Let’s see what happens in two years’ time.
