CrossLoop – Sharing Your Desktop Across Platforms and Firewalls
November 23, 2006 |
“Can you help fix my computer?” Now how many times have you heard THAT ONE? Helping out Uncle Charlie or your best friend isn’t too much of a hassle – if you sit there at the computer. But what about those long distance “help desk” calls? The conversation is usually filled with “Click where? What? I don’t see what you’re talking about!” and the whole exercise ends in frustration.
CrossLoop is a new free Web 2.0 product which aims to end that frustration. Simply download the one application and you can turn your computer into either the host sharing your own desktop or the client accessing a desktop.
While Microsoft has attempted to build this into their OS since XP (and earlier if you include NetMeeting), the problem has been caused by firewalls or the OS the other person was using. CrossLoop seems to cut through this and works on nearly every machine. Allows controlling the other person’s mouse as well!
Very beginner friendly.
