An online pal sent me an invitation link to join StumbleUpon, a place where you can discover new sites based on your interests. After clicking on the link, I decided to check it out. There are a few features; you can channel surf the internet for great websites, videos, pictures, games and more. To begin, I entered the necessary details and then it led me to a page to download the free StumbleUpon toolbar. After downloading the exe file, I ran it on my PC and it was automatically installed on my IE browser but I could not use the tool. Later, I recalled reading that it will only work on Firefox browsers.
Anyway, here’s what you get when you use it on your Firefox browsers. By choosing personalized recommendations according to your interests, you get to rate, review and share what you find; you can also keep an online history of the things you’ve Stumbled and more importantly, there is no adware or spyware secretly installed with this toolbar.
The requirement is that you must be at least 14 years old to join. Stumbling is also personalized for you. By telling them your interests, you will enable them to bring great websites to you. You may select popular topics out of over 500 they have. And if you’d still like a few more, you can click Show More. And you can always make changes later if you decide they offer you too many or too few sites. Do not fret as your information is safe and protected. They have a privacy policy linked up.

Diana, but their home page tells the toolbar work with both IE and FF. Sure there were no problems with the installation?
By the way, I was wondering if some of our users use StumbleUpon? I know we’va had some traffic from them. This must mean someone bookmarked Profy?
Oh it was this site which I came across that says it only works with FF > http://www.5xmom.com/index.php/2006/11/19/stumble-upon-stumbleupon/
Anyway, I managed to login with my IE.
..Welcome to the internet? Old..
Im using this tool on FF. Not sure if it works on IE.
I forgot to mention that I disabled the toolbar on IE and login directly with the browser, though StumbleUpon’s home page shows it works on both IE and FF.
