Talkonaut: Google Talk and MSN Messenger In Your Pocket

Don’t want to wait for iSkoot’s solution to mobilize Google Talk? Well, it turns out someone was thinking of you and your lack of a pocket-able client: the GTalk2VoIP Team.

Nearly every J2ME-enabled (That’s mobile Java, to all you luddites out there) can utilize Talkonaut to stay in touch with your Google Talk contact list - and MSN/Live Messenger users too. All you need is a copy of the software downloaded to your mobile phone, and the rest is up to an automatic install process.

Let’s hope this thing is bug-free (if it isn’t, we’d like to hear about it ASAP), but what’s more, let’s hope they got the aethetics of the client down better than their home page. Yikes, does it look iffy or what? Regardless, you can take Talkonaut or leave it. It’s free, so what’s the harm in offering yourself up as guinea pig? I wish I could give you all my first-hand take, but since I’m without mobile Java myself, I’m going to have to sit this one out and warm the proverbial bench.
