The Gorb – Uh… Snazzy?
November 26, 2006 |

TheGorb. I’m loving the name. But I’m not really sure what to think of the service… It seems okay so far though! Well, TheGorb is a rather new concept in the Web 2.0 startups zone. It is, in short, a site that collects and aggregates various opinions from multiple sources about a person’s conduct and reputation. It then goes on to deliver a reasonably reliable result of what others think about you on the internet as a whole. It’s a tough game out there, but the ability to measure a person’s conduct based on other user’s opinions about them is certainly a tool that will help you.
With TheGorb, you’ll be able to get real opinions quickly. Even though it’s still in beta, it looks great! A place where people can openly evaluate each other, and where your reputation is put online, or as I prefer, ‘On the line’, for all to see. The thing is though, the website seems to be having an incredible amount of downtime. Whether this is due to excessive traffic breaking their bandwidth, or because it’s still in Beta, I don’t know, TheGorb blog hasn’t been much of a help really either, though I must admit I like its design.
On the plus-side, sign-up is easy as pie, and it seems that the service is very effective, offering quick, honest results. From what I’ve seen, The Gorb offers promising features that could make their ways more and more into our everyday, net related lives, but I’m not sure if The Gorb have gone about applying them in quite the right way. Via The MoMB. Like I said though, I wouldn’t class it as brilliant, nor terrible. ‘Okay’ will have to do on this one.
