The Las Vegas CES is giving us plenty to talk about lately, as new press releases are issued daily informing us of new technology advances. I noticed this latest on Business Wire, announcing a new digital media interface software package from Nero. According to the release, and the Nero site, the flagship of Nero’s new integrated media hub software is Nero 7. The software has the capability to integrate CE, PC, and living room systems into one free flowing audio and video hub.
The new ‘liquid media’ software will allow the user to create, share, transfer, edit, and play media from high quality sound to high definition home theater playback. New Nero 7 scaled??Digital??? media has already been adopted by partners like D-Link, and AMD. This all-in-one solution makes managing media between devices really simple. Files from PC can be easily scaled for PDA’s or for home entertainment presentations. Utilizing MPEG-4 compliant audio and video, Nero 7 enables the??user to flawlessly stream audio and video files, live TV, and other media throughout the house through Windows?? Media Center Edition enabled PC’s and??Xbox 360??? consoles. Nero 7 users can also share their experiences outside the home on PDA’s and other supported devices.
Nero PhotoShow Deluxe 4,??a new slideshow creator and sharing suite, allows users to create movie-like experiences or PhotoShows. Photo shows can be customiized to add musical accompaniment, animation, text captions, and templates.??These presentations can also??be shared on DVD, by email, or??with free posting on a??Nero web site.
Nero is a world class digital multimedia solutions provider.??Nero is focused on developing technologies for the enhanced creation and playback of digital media. Nero has sold over 240 million of their award winning software, and continues to improve and??create solutions for home and office. ??
Does it really?
Well folks, I love you guys, but! Seriously,??I have not reviewed this new product, as??I was not given a free copy to evaluate.
I have had experience with many of the company’s other products, and have always found them to be of the highest quality and function. We are all witnessing a revolution in end user driven technology and web 2.0 applications. Obviously, these are designed to allow people more input and freedom to utilize technology for their benefit and satisfaction. In the last few weeks,??I have personally reviewed or reported on applications that have the capacity??to change the way we view, transmit, organize, or use data.??Nero 7 is another step in the process of empowering individuals. I found a really thorough review of this product for you??guys at BIOS??(they must have had one laying around), and hope that you will take a look. Essentially, BIOS provided the simple pros and cons, which??I provide for your scrutiny. According to BIOS, this is a true all in one solution for audio, data, video, photo, and TV, but the down side is that the interface is overwhelming, with basic image and video editing tools only.
I would tentatively agree with this assessment, as almost any advanced software solution has a pretty daunting manual to go along with it. As far as Nero’s past software is concerned, this would certainly be the case. However, as we all know, the learing curve of any technical software is always daunting at first. Once??you get the hand of using the aspects you utilize the most, this shortcoming is not nearly so tedious. I would also recommend looking into Hitachi’s new Terabyte hard drive too, as Nero 7 requires 1.3 gig of hard drive space to install.
