New HD Content Distribution Agreement for Zudeo

Svetlana Gladkova,

New video services emerge almost daily. Video aggregation and distribution platform code named Zudeo was launched by Azureus in December. Paul Glazowki predicted that they would have to sign multiple content agreements to provide their users with a truly valuable service.

And so following the announcement of its first strategic partnership with BBC Worldwide Azureus announced a new agreement yesterday. The new partnership is with Bennett Media Worldwide - the global distribution operation for the Bennett Group and one of the top distributors of HD quality original extreme sports, music, fashion and exotic programming.

The partnership will result in launch of more than 140 half-hours of Bennett's popular original High-Definition (HD) programming on Zudeo later this year. The content provided by Bennett Media will include The Extremists and Bikini Destinations - popular Bennett productions. And of course, for Bennett Media it is not the first agreement to distribute their content online. But still partnering with Zudeo seems to be an important step for them. Here is how Casey Bennett, President of The Bennett Group puts it:

Azureus has rapidly gained industry-wide recognition as a broadband innovator and we are pleased to be able to take advantage of its ability to deliver high resolution content to a global audience.

And these words definitely make sense: Zudeo enables content providers to publish, showcase, and distribute high resolution, long form content in High- Definition or DVD quality over the Internet - easily and at no cost.

Besides, Zudeo makes it easy for content consumers to use their service: content can be discovered through search, browsing, channels and tagging. Their popular application is really easy-to-use - and simplicity seems to be the general rule these days when you try to reach a broader audience - instead of technical geeks only.

The interesting thing about Azureus press releases is that they always make us expect more news from them - and soon. Last time they promised new content partnerships - and the next one arrives after less than a month. This time they promise to release new enhanced features including P2P streaming in the near future. I think that's just natural for them so stay tuned, I believe further news will arrive soon.
