MyStrands Receives Enhancements

Previously spoken about on Profy, PartyStrandswas introduced to the world – and its clubs and bars – as a way to involve those present in a communal conversation through SMS messages, which would be emblazoned upon big screens placed throughout a room or hall. PartyStrands bore other features in addition to their hallmark technology, but enhancing the club going experience with a bit of Web 2.0 was (and still is) their main trade.
It has done fairly well, but it hasn’t traveled on a meteoric spurt to worldwide and widespread acceptance. So they decided to make their product a bit more personal. They released MyStrands, a miniature twin and complementary service to PartyStrands, which was basically marketed to liven up the partying within and without. It allowed absentees better connection to goings on, and vice versa, with all original features included (SMS, picture messaging, playlist suggestions, etc.) Also, if you’ve failed to make it to a gathering (whether vacationing or otherwise), you can log onto PartyStrands and view the entire history of all that went on. Check out the pictures, messages, and playlist, all through a single gateway.
This made MyStrands more easily consumable, more user friendly, and thus more attractive to all parties involved. Now, having had MyStrands out for a public viewing for some time, its creators thought it was time to give it a good rev. Today, the update gets released into the wild. And it’s a big one.
No longer do you need to visit the local underground. You can set up your own MyStrands party right at home, controlling the playlist via your PC. You can also play tracks from others’ playlists, so if your choice of music isn’t syncing with the mood of the party, you can pump friends’ favorite tracks through the sound system.
Since MyStrands integrates mobile, online, and physical worlds, your options for discovering new people, music, and clubs in on the PartyStrands movement are just about endless. Through its partnership with Napster, MyStrands offers 2.5 million full-length commercial tracks for members to listen to – as long as one registers at the Napster website. In addition to MyStrands’ many updates, the developers have delivered a Symbian-compatible MyStrands program, allowing you to augment your MyStrands profile, playlists, etc., while on the go. We’re not in 24/7 party heaven yet, but we’re sure getting close. More than anything, the new MyStrands is just one more way to stay in touch with people with similar interests, similar musical tastes, living in the same city – maybe even further away.
