One Part AJAX, One Part March Madness

Ever put a wager down on something you’re not sure of? How about something you think is a certainty? Maybe you’re into sports. And, low and behold, you’ve come love AJAX, heart and soul. Well, put those three [ingredients?] together and you have PicksPal’s March Madness applet, which gives you an easy way to satisfy your craving for Net-based gambling that’s all sorts of legal.
In some regions of the world, folks can knock themselves out playing blackjack through the Web, but not in the US, no. So what is one to do when a celebrated NCAA tournament comes around and you don’t want to upset Uncle Sam? PicksPal’s answer to that conundrum is to give material prizes to fans of college basketball, which are doled out in rounds. (From iPod Shuffles in Round One to HDTVs in the Final Four and Mini Coopers for successful National Champion picks.)
PicksPal’s Bracket 2007 is enticing. Read up on some stats, listen to some sports commentary, click some buttons, and you’ve got a chance at winning some gadgets with no money down. Good deal.
Of course, there are rules. First, you’ll need a PicksPal account. And those two grand prizes – the Mini Coopers – aren’t offered as to-own. They’ll be granted as two-year lease vehicles, with the lessee required to foot the insurance, gas, and maintenance bills. There’s more fine print, too, so read up on the full list of rules if you feel one of the Minis is in your future.
As far as the basic game of Bracket 2007 goes, it’s just good, clean fun. The prizes aren’t outlandish, you need not invest lots of time and effort in working the AJAX interface, and there’s no cash lost on your part, win or lose. You can invite your friends or foes to make their picks and see who comes out ahead.
March Madness is as heated and as popular as ever, so there’ll be no lack of great plays over the next few weeks. If you’re based in the US and enjoy the game of basketball, why not try your luck?
