JobTonic.com Pays Out

JobTonic.com, a company we profiled a little over a week ago, is rewarding its first referral with a £375 finder's fee. The site, which launched in 2006, allows users to refer friends, acquaintances, and themselves for open positions, replacing a traditional headhunter or employment service with real-life social networks.
In this case, a Mr. B (JobTonic.com has hidden identities) referred Mr. A in Glasgow for a position as Telesales Advisor at a major UK financial company. After the candidate is successfully hired, JobTonic.com pays the referrer the fee promised by the hiring company.
When interviewed by JobTonic.com about the referral, Mr. B said, “I found the job and it looked just the right thing for Mr A, I'm over the moon firstly because he's got a better job and secondly because I receive a reward cheque.”
JobTonic.com is understandably pleased about their first success in such a relatively short time. General Manager Nick Goldstein says, “We're very happy to have hosted the first successful paid web-referral appointment in the UK and look forward to making many more successful matches in the future. Direct applications had already seen the site prove its worth but a successful referral appointment is great news and shows that the model is working.”
JobTonic.com's real market are people who might be perfect for a job, but aren't actively looking, or don't even realize that their dream job is just around the corner. I'm hoping that JobTonic.com has continued success, and possibly grows to include other countries, such as the U.S. in their coverage area.

Hi Cyndy,
thanks for the coverage! just a note to add that our site went online in 2006, it’s just that this year we’re being more proactive on the PR front. I’ll keep you guys up to date with developments.
Kind regards,
Alasdair
My apologies, Alasdair. I interpreted the first press release as a launch announcement. I’ve corrected the date in the article.
