Twiigs: Social Polling That Makes Sense

I know what you're thinking: I'm reviewing yet another social polling site, and the world can't POSSIBLY need another polling service. I've already reviewed BetsGoWild, MegaBuzz, and Sodahead, so why bother with another site that seems to do the same thing without some of the glitz and glamour? After all, Twiigs doesn't have the rankings and profile pages and points rewards that the other sites have, and it just launched in April, leaving its beta status just barely a beta.
The main feature of Twiigs is the one more important thing that's missing from all the other sites: widgets. And as we all know, all cool sites have widgets, and the best ones have interactive widgets. Twiigs provides a Javascript widget you can use on your own web pages to promote your polls.
Twiigs still provides the ability to comment on polls you vote in, as well as forward polls you like or create to your friends via email. But it's the seamless site additions that make Twiigs worthy of a look even in this crowded space, and it makes you wonder what's taken the other sites so long to get to this point. Twiigs allows you to access a widget creation tool right from the poll page, even if the poll you'd like to add isn't one you've created yourself.
The tool provides the Javascript code as well as optional HTML code for the poll, as well as a starter point for CSS styles to edit the poll to fit your web page. Within about five minutes, you can customize the poll to look completely organic to your site. I actually first saw Twiigs on a blog that I frequent and if I hadn't paid attention to the fine print next to the poll, I'd never have known that the blog owner hadn't merely added new functionality to the blog. To me, this makes Twiigs the more useful of the social polling sites, and hopefully as they develop the product more and add additional features, it will draw a wider audience.
