[...] Posted by Michael Garrett on April 1st, 2008 Ever since the "human-powered search engine" Mahalo launched (and even in the months preceding launch), the startup has dealt with its share of skepticism from critics. Of course the founder, Jason Calacanis (formerly of Netscape/AOL and Weblogs Inc.), has dealt with his share of criticism before, but it seems as if progress on Mahalo is being closely monitored by the blogging community as if it is doomed to fail.
It is obvious that now many startups are competing in the search technologies field, some of them following the same approaches and Mahalo is definitely not the first human-powered search engine, there are other examples, too but all of them are not perfect. But how will we get the perfect search tool of the future without many competing teams working on them?
BTW, do I get it right that you are among Mahalo competitors? If so, your behavior sounds like unfair competition to me, really.
