Next New Networks and Joost Team Up
June 05, 2007 |
Next New Networks, a micro television network we reported on previously, has just partnered up with everyone's favorite broadcast quality Internet television service Joost. We received the news today that Next New Networks will air Pulp Secret, Threadbanger and Channel Frederator on the world's first Internet TV service and NNN expects to follow up with other networks on Joost very soon.
NNN has also added a new network to their lineup called Total MMO, which is a fantastic online gaming community and a new show called A Comicbook Orange for the Pulp Secret network. The NNN network of super cool shows continues to grow as online TV seems to really be getting its wings.
Next New Networks brings together elements of traditional TV networks with Internet functionality and allows viewers to contribute, share and distribute content. The vision of NNN is to populate networks with key creative talent in niche audiences in an effort to target interest groups for a richer and more shared experience. The company intends to create 101 targeted networks to reach the full spectrum of users and their interests.
These latest Joost networks will add variety and value to an already awesome lineup of programming. A brief description of these services is listed below:
- Pulp Secret – This is the world's first network dedicated to comic book news and culture. The network includes interviews, reviews and some hilarious spoofs and is updated weekly.
- Threadbanger - This it the first network for people to make their own fashion and includes DIY tips to help users create their own style (weekly updates as well).
- Channel Frederator - This service features ReFrederator, which is an eclectic mix of vintage and classic cartoons.
Joost Some More
Joost has been one of the biggest success stories of Web 2.0 in 2007. The world's first broadcast quality TV platform has wowed everyone with their quality innovative technology and continual commitment to excellence in usability and programming. This latest collaboration comes as no surprise as Joost continues to add the very best to their service. Joost currently features over 150 channels covering a gambit of genres from cartoons to documentaries with variable content available by geographic region.
What's Next?
After all we have seen from Joost, we should not be surprised to see virtually any programming aired on this wonder of Web 2.0. Personally, I am waiting for the old westerns of yesteryear and perhaps even "retro-sports" in their diverse lineup (If they do it you read it here first). I missed an opportunity to talk with NNN just before their announcement to air Indy Mogul and some other content on another one of our favorites Veoh last week. It is a very busy time and schedules just prevented previewing that event. This latest news is a really good match for both entities and for the viewers as well. Bravo again NNN and Joost, keep going!
