Halopedia Celebrates Halo 3 on Wikia

on September 19, 2007,
My great friends at Wikia forwarded me the news that Halopdedia is hosting a giveaway in honor of the massively anticipated release of Halo 3. Halopedia wants to reward all their loyal contributors with some cool Halo 3 gear. Halopedia just passed the 3,000 article mark on Wikia's gaming network which hosts some of the largest gaming communities anywhere. Halopedia is a valuable resource for all things Halo including game details, tips, tricks and more. The site is already loaded with a great deal of information about Halo 3 which is scheduled for release September 25.
Wikia Now
Wikia launched in November of 2004 and has grown to more than 800,000 articles on over 3000 topics since then. Wikia is one of the premier group sharing site for group information, news, stories, media and opinion. Inspired by the innovative art of my friend Jimmy Wales' Wikipedia, Wikia is a for- profit extension of collaborative online content outside the scope of an encyclopedia. Wikia has always been committed to openness and contributive creativity in an effort to help authors distribute their ideas to an exceptionally wide audience and add value to the community.
Halo 3 is no more anticipated anywhere than at my house. My two sons recorded no fewer than 10,000 bug and Dad kills in the two previous versions and I just can't wait to be owned after next week. I have covered Wikipedia, Wikia and Search Wikia as extensively as anyone I suppose. The triumvirate really exemplifies everything that we have come to love about the new Web and I know personally that Angela and Jimmy work tirelessly to improve a great many things including Wikia. The Halo series of games are something that a great many people enjoy and Halopedia, like so many other Wikia sites, is a great place for people to share the adventure.
Halo 3, Bungie and Wikia
Halopedia's giveaway will include 5 very cool Halo 3 distressed hats, 10 Halo-3 T-shirts, 5 UNSC Cargo Satchels and 1 limited edition Mylar 5thseries Lithograph of the Master Chief. These are great prizes for the fans and contributors of Halopedia, but something is missing. At the current count these folks have created 3115 articles - shouldn't there be a Halo 3 game in the hat? I know with all the busyness in the Wikia camp this is probably an oversight, but I don't even beg for shirts and hats and I already have more swag for just under 500 blog articles than there is in this giveaway, I know we can get Bungie to come off with a game for thousands of enthusiasts and some primo links!

What a cool “bungie”
Gush, there are so many interesting sites on the web, and when you come up with something so powerful I fee completely ignorant.
You make a very good point: a Halo 3 should be in the hat. After all there wouldn’t be a Halopedia without the users. Common halo people, get some PR perspective!!!
What is the attraction to Halo? Everyone who plays FPS games knows that the PC (with mouse and keyboard) is far better than any console controller.
