LongJump Takes Online Business Apps To A New Level

Leslie Poston,

LongJump LogoThere is a new online application suite being released that offers a complete solution for the small to medium business. It's called LongJump, and it is being brought to you by the folks behind Relationals. LongJump contacted Profy and set up an interview with LongJump CEO and founder Pankaj Malviya. I will admit, I was expecting the usual dry interview and run of the mill Web 2.0 application, but I was pleasantly surprised.

LongJump offers a wide array of web applications you can combine and customize into a fully capable office suite for your business.

LongJump is offering 13 individual applications users can pick and choose from to build an office suite that fits their individual business needs. The way LongJump is structured allows the user to fully customize their LongJump experience to their own needs. The first level of customization is the actual selection of applications from the list.

The applications included in LongJump are:

  • Office Space: share your calendars, tasks, action lists, status reports, handle bug tracking, and other collaborative team needs in a more efficient way than email.
  • Customer Support Manager: complete customer support and case management solution that includes a built in customer service portal, internal notifications, customizable ticket handling work flow and escalation policies to track and maintain your customer case data.
  • 360° Customer: fully customizable database solution for customer account information, contact sharing and tracking, appointments, tasks, document handling, emails and other communication history.
  • SFA: manage your sales operations online, tracking team progress, sharing customer information including repositories for prospects, customer accounts, contact and opportunity information, and more.
  • Deal Tracker: store your product lists and pricing information, follow deal status, keep live metrics on deals at your fingertips, make your reps into focused sales teams, combine with Customer Manager and Prospect Manager for a complete solution.
  • Contract Manager: maintain and automate contract activities with immediate visibility of the current relationship with your customers and clients. Works with Customer Manager and Deal Tracker for a complete proposal to invoice solution.
  • Prospecting Manager: control and manage potential sales leads and processes, driving new prospects from your website, automating sales rep assignments and identifying key new sales leads. Measure progress on customizable dashboards. Works with calendar, task, email, contact and account data features of other applications to track your sales from lead to client status.
  • Campaign Manager: create, build and track email campaigns you have targeted to your sales prospects and customers with easy to use mail merge features and templates. Lets you measure results and track call lists and sales teams.
  • Tradeshow Manager: plan and track every aspect of your trade show or marketing event set up and sales that result from it.
  • Employee Manager: store your employee data and follow time off requests and approvals, hire dates, reviews, training, benefits and more.
  • Recruitment Agency: collect candidate information, store it and match it to open jobs, control hiring companies and contacts, track history and referral bookkeeping. Make assessment profiles of candidates, hiring companies, keep resumes in one place, and answer web based inquiries. Integrates with calendar, email, and tasks.
  • Vendor And Supplier Manager: keep your contacts and activity data all in one place, including invoice management, contracts, scheduled deliveries, emails, tasks and calendars.
  • IT Asset Tracker: keep your financial and service information on your IT assets with asset information tracking from serial numbers and asset tags to warranties, lease status and more. Generates reports on all aspects of your IT assets.

Launch Pad

LongJump has all the markings of a true Web 2.0 company. It is well organized, attractive to look at and easy to use. My favorite feature of the LongJump application suite was the ability to not only pick and choose which applications would work best for your business, from one of them to all of them, but the fact you can customize each one. That's right, you can customize each application even further to suit your needs, without knowing any code.

Application Menu LongJump

How does that work? The application features are set up like widgets. The base of each application has drag and drop functionality in the dashboard. You can take it even further than just using the widgets to control your application experience by using the drop down menus for other features, customizing each application even further. You can customize how each application looks in the dashboard, how they track information, how they report, what they track and more.

Integrated Google Map

LongJump also offers integration with other Web 2.0 applications outside of its office suite, like Google Maps, and with standard office products like Microsoft Outlook. In fact, each time you use an outside application to perform a task related to a customer or project or anything you track in LongJump, it updates to add that to the tracking being done by LongJump. This means a seamless integration between online applications and offline applications.

Asset Tracker

LongJump offers a great deal of variety and functionality in an attractive and easy to use package. In fact, it offers so many features it needs more than an article to give you the full picture. It allows you to run your office entirely online, broadening your reach and enabling your sales staff to work as teams no matter where they are. LongJump is being released in beta this week, and you will be able to try it for free until December 31, 2007. If you are a smallor medium business owner, I recommend giving it a whirl. If the sneak peek I got is any indication I think this Web 2.0 application will be one to watch.

UPDATE: I was informed this morning that LongJump added one last application to their package at release time:

Bug Chilla: Software bug tracking and feature management tool that tracks bugs and incorporates product management, product marketing, feature
prioritization, and business implications of changes during the development cycle.
