Meet Me in Paris at LeWeb 3 Next Week
December 08, 2007 |
I wanted to let all our readers know that I am attending Loic Le Meur's Le Web 3 event this year. For those of you who have been totally offline for the last couple of weeks, this is the event that will take place in Paris next Tuesday and Wednesday for the internet stars to share with the world again their vision (do you ever expect any less grandiose word when we talk of the future of the internet?) for our future.
Personally I am definitely not the most experienced person to be present at the event as it is my first time both in Paris and at Le Web – not sure myself what exactly I am more excited about actually so let's make it both. But I do hope that my first-time experience and novice's vision will still be interesting to our readers.
I can hardly understand how given the tight schedule of the two-days event a person will ever be able to talk to anyone at the event but I was told that listening to the speeches is absolutely pointless as they will all be available online after the event – so no real need to waste one's time.
So communicating is exactly what I am going to do during the event: my plan is to talk to as many people as possible – and to share some of the most interesting talks with Profy readers as soon as I can. And if you are interested in listening to what a novice feels like at the major web conference like this one – follow me on Profy next week. Certainly, we are also going to give proper coverage to the startups taking part in the competition as it is definitely an interesting part of the entire event. So if you are interested in following the event without going to Paris yourself, don't forget to add Profy to your reading list.
Oh, and on to the major goal of this very post. So of you are going to be present at the event next week yourself and have a thing or two to talk with me about , shoot me an email and I will be happy to meet you – after all, web 2.0 certainly makes the world small and this whole web 2.0 crowd is even smaller so there's definitely a perfect sense in getting to know each other in person – acting as a nice smiling Facebook profile photo forever may be tiresome, I guess. So let's give real faces and voices to our photos finally, Ok? And even if you have no particular thing to talk to me about and just feel like wanting to say hi – this would do perfectly well, of course.
So stay tuned, Profy's goal is to get all the news from LeWeb next week to our readers. And see you next week in Paris!

Où es-tu, Profy ?
Well, trying to walk around here with a badge and a Profy logo in it. Easy to recognize actually
Have a wonderful conference. Hope you have a bit of time to go to museums and to shop! Was last there after Christmas, and I envy you!
Allison, this post was written almost a year ago and I was talking about last year’s event. And actually last year I had a whole day to myself sightseeing in Paris
