Update On MyQuire - Simple Project Doctor

Phil Butler,

myquire logo.DEMOFall 07 introduced us to some fascinating and potentially industry changing startups and technology. One of my favorites was MyQuire , a very effective but simplified project management tool I reviewed in September. MyQuire has been chugging right along since then and has just released their latest upgrade derived from user feedback. I originally prescribed MyQuire for injecting pain relief for common projects and a dose of this remedy is even more soothing given their latest enhancements.

Like all successful Web 2.0 companies, Myquire is ultra responsive to user generated feedback and this update is in correlation to user suggestions and preferences there. Most of the problems inherent in the MyQuire platform have been no less cumbersome for users. This update includes:

  • Registration Streamlining - The registration process has been simplified and refined for new users
  • Aesthetics/Architecture - The whole application has a new look that is focused on getting projects done.
  • File Function - Files are now easier to work with and multiple files can be loaded simultaneously.
  • Notifications - Better project notifications and an update center have been added.

As I said, this is not a major update on the face of it, but then MyQuire is not a fantastically complex innovation. In fact, this is one reason the service is so effective - its inherent simplicity and ease of use are what make it so powerful. On the negative side, MyQuire could use some tweaking and perhaps a few more features. As far as the user base is concerned, I am not sure of the numbers as I could not reach David Steinberg their CEO before post time.

MyQuire is a simple but very effective project tool that anyone can use. I think that the more people use it, the better it will become obviously. If you have not had the opportunity to use it, you probably should as it is a no brain solution for project simplification.
