Snoop Dogg 2.0

Still not sure that Web 2.0 has crept into nearly every corner of the Internet? Well, wonder no more, because even Snoop Dogg has gotten in on the action.
Yes, in addition to reality shows, rap records, and completely changing the cultural viewpoint of the murse as well as how dorky suburban white boys are speaking, Snoop Dogg has not only incorporated Web 2.0 elements into his web site, but is also going to change the way you and your friends use Twitter.
That's right, fans of the D-O-Double-G, you can follow him on Twitter, and send your Tweets right on over to @snoopdogg, which I assumed was a la @darthvader when I first spied it on Ben Metcalfe's stream. But no, Snoop really does want you to know he'll be appearing on MTV's TRL today. And if you visit his site, you'll know that's not all he has planned.
Yes, Snoop Dogg himself has entered the widget world, giving fans a new version of his Schizzolater for Twitter. Of course, it's a big old widget just for marketing his upcoming album (dropping 11 March for the curious), but it "shizzolates" your Twitter stream. Just drop in the widget, enter your Twitter username, and all your follows can Tweet like Snoop Dogg.
I have to say, it's a decent use of 2.0 technology for marketing. The code has quick embed links for every social network as well as the ability to put it into any blog. Shizzolated Ars Technica headlines are good for at least five minutes of giggles, as well as any of the Tweets I see during the day, the majority of which are more like an instant RSS feed.
So kudos to Snoop Dogg's PR team, who have figured out how to leverage Web 2.0 for marketing far better than most of the folks I see making attempts. I expect this to end up on most of the Facebook profiles I see by the end of the week.
