		<description>Elliott, unless they completely restructured it, I'm not sure it could be that seamless as to put it in with Live.com. Farecast was increasingly setting itself up as a sort of "Orbitz with benefits" with the addition of hotels, etc. and I think it is positioned more as a competitor for the Orbitz/Expedia/Travelocitys than as a search component. Even more curious are the rumors about an Expedia sale at some point.</description>

		<description>I don't think Microsoft is moving *back* into the online reservation service.  Farecast is really a price meta-search engine with some predictive analytics.  This is about looking, scrambling, for a way back into the search game.  There is no guarantee that Y! will pan out, or that the acquisition will be a successful one even if it happens.  Farecast can be a bite sized deal that can be quickly integrated into a blended search experience with Live.com.  here's our take on it:
