Strands Unravels Music Site MyStrands

Strands has several offerings under its belt for a variety of applications: the Strands Social Player, Business Solutions Strands, Party Strands and Money Strands. It has now announced MyStrands Social Player, a new addition to the mix.

MyStrands takes social players to the next level by dropping them into your mobile device. It works with Symbian S60 3rd Edition and J2ME, and is optimized for Nokia devices, though it works on a variety of others as well. MyStrands lets you share your music with your Last.FM playlist, working as a scrobbler for your mobile device.

If you listen to music on your mobile device, the scrobbler will send the recently played song list to your Last.FM profile for you. Users can also use MyStrands as a way to connect with people who share their taste in music, let them know what you listen to and more. If your smart phone, PDA or regular phone works with Java or Symbian S60 or S40, chances are you can use MyStrands, even if your phone is not a Nokia.

MyStrands makes your mobile music experience more social and interactive. Letting you know what other people are listening to with "Who's Listening", connecting you with your friends on a new level, offering a way to share media and more, MyStrands is adding layers to mobile social music.

MyStrands welcomes contact from unsigned bands and companies like ringtone providers directly as a means to drive new sounds to their user base. They also work with many of the same music entities as Last.FM, providing users with a fully integrated service that is on the up and up. I was able to connect with and use MyStrands on several phones on the T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T networks flawlessly. I had a bit of trouble with the Verizon phones I tried, but was able to get it to work eventually.
