Returning back home after Web 2.0 Expo, I felt bereft. No longer could I turn quickly to my trusty RAZR, send a Twitter message to @fireball, and find out where people were. It's a silly thing to want, but if you are making plans to go out, it's helpful to have, especially if you are trying to meet up somewhere. |

I have a lot of posting to catch up on after Web 2.0 Expo this week, but I'm not saving the best for last; I'm starting off my catch-up posts with my review of the Blogtropol.us Bloggers Lounge. |

Coming fast on the heels of the Yahoo and Google ad pairing is Yahoo's new partnership with CNET. The two companies signed an agreement tying them together via content and ad sales for three years this week. FaceBook Instant Message Feature Live

Now that FaceBook's instant messaging feature is live and I have had a chance to play with it, I must say it is getting a resounding "meh" from me. I was looking forward to a feature that would enable me to talk with my FaceBook contacts without having to resort to one of the intrusive third party applications, but the end release is underwhelming at best. |

It's been absolutely insanely busy here at Web 2.0 Expo. It's great getting to meet so many people and showing them the Profy platform, but I'm also a little bit bummed I haven't been able to get around to more booths and attend more sessions. It's like Disneyland here: too much to do in four days to see and experience it all! |

The launch of the iPhone (shortly followed by the iPod Touch) seemed to fuel developer's desires to create mobile-specific web applications despite the device's ability to access the entire internet (without the WAP/WML limitations of most mobile devices). Many mobile web users find the wireless application protocol (WAP) too restrictive and slow, greatly limiting what WAP browsers can access on the internet. On the other hand, all mobile devices (even the iPhone) have small screens and excessive scrolling can be [...] |
