Preordered HTC G1 Phone from T-Mobile? Chances Are It Will Be Delivered on Friday

Today we seem to have some great news for all the T-Mobile customers who have preordered their first ever Android-powered G1 phones by HTC - and the news is possible delivery of your phones well ahead of the scheduled October 22.
The thing is that some of the people who preordered their phones from T-Mobile after the presentation noticed that the order status shows as shipped with the scheduled delivery date this Friday - 5 days before the initially announced date of October 22 when the phone will hit the stores.
Judging by the comments on the blog posts about the pending deliveries of the G1 phone, the delivery date for every customer will depend on how far he or she is located from the distribution centers.
Those who preordered G1 can check the delivery status on the UPS website in the ‘Track by Reference’ section using your phone number as a reference number (it should be entered with dashes, for example 123-456-7890). Calling T-Mobile representatives does not seem to work and you will hardly ever get any tracking code from them - just don’t forget to use the tracking by reference option as it is your phone that is used as a reference here.

My phone number didnt work in the Track by reference on the UPS site… I would be pretty stoked if the g1 was delivered ahead of schedule.
I just checked the ups site and it works for mine so I will be getting it friday!!!
I’d sure like to get my hands on one of these. What I’d like most is a phone plan with pay as you go minutes and unlimited data for a low price. Is that an option with the G1?
My phone number worked on the UPS website. I will be getting mine on Friday.

Daniel, from the reviews I’ve seen, there are no pay as you go plans for G1 with T-Mobile. Question here is what carriers will offer for other manufacturers of Android-based phones.
@Daniel The phone is unavailable as a prepaid phone atm and there are no plans for it to be in the near future. We were told that we were only allowed to sell the phone as a new activation or an upgrade and one of the G1 Data Plan “options” is mandatory.
I am so MAD my number isn’t working on the UPS website. I got a text message from T-mobile on october 14th saying that the g1 was backordered and anticipate delivery on 11/10/08. I ordered it on october 8 and I live in southeast Michigan.
well i just checked the status of my shipment again and now it says that the phone will not be received until the 21st so maybe they are just getting the shipments ready???
i ordered mine on sept 25th and just checked status and it says “billing information received” on ups website..im so excited and yes i know “its just a phone”..hopefully i will have it friday im gonna check again tomorrow

I kept putting in my number and getting nothing, was so giddy i forgot to put in the damn dashes! I get the same think as you BJ, says that billing has been received. Seeing how its 3 day shipping probably getting on Wednesday or Tuesday of next week :/
@mob: If you take a look at other comments here after yours, you will see that many people are actually getting their phones on Friday so maybe no reasons to be shocked any more and you should be getting excited about the pending event.

I am pissed! I ordered it on September 23rd, the very date they unveil the phone and I get nothing from UPS reference number track. I wrote my phone number with the dashes. I am desperate to receive it because I will be traveling to Switzerland on the 25th, the hotel I am stayin is a WiFi HotSpot and would be great if I can have access to Internet over there. They should give priority to people who order first, not by whether or not one is close to a distribution center.
what does it mean when it says ground on the UPS website.
I checked the ups website and mine finnaly made it to houston tx it is probably right down the street from my house. Hopefully I get it monday, either way I’m happy its in texas being that it was shipped on the 15th.
Hello all! I just checked my ups tracking code……And my phone will be here 2morow! I live in wilmington,NC and its being shipped from Louisville, KY so the closer you are the sooner you will recieve the all hailed G1! As of right now my phone is being held in Greensboro NC untilthe next truck arrives and im only about 4 hours from Greensboro! Yes cant wait!!!!

I just checked UPS via reference number and its says its delivered but there’s nothing on my doorstep. I called UPS at work and the agent tells me it’s on my doorstep. Once I got home, nothing!!!. I’m going to call ups right now.
Well I ordered mine on October 14 and I was told that im getting mine around November 10. Since everyone who ordered there’s before october 3 got there’s before their actual arrival day, will I get mine early too?
Hey Everybody, I see that some of you guys have tried to check on UPS website. The fact is for customers who ordered before Oct 3 which is they would be arrive in their area on or around Oct 22 which is already came out, other hand after Oct 4, you all have to wait until Nov 10… because.. 1.5 million people have ordered earliest first serving first comes they get. T-Mobile says to me I ordered After Oct 6 which is the second group will have to wait.. so keep eye on UPS tracking everyday who knows can be coming early than Nov 10. Also I work at UPS, don’t ask, I have seen lot of T-Mobile packages carryin around which I can’t say if is it G1s or what.. You all need to be patience! Don’t forget to go on ups.com and tracking by reference number example: (123-456-7890) using your mobile phone numbers to check.
I ordered mine on Oct 4, I keep checking UPS everyday but nothing.
Has anyone who ordered after the 4th got anything?? I live in Miami and I’m so anxious to get it.
For anyone still looking for info on the whereabouts of their G1, call UPS and give them your reference number. If it is in the system, tell them you need the tracking number. Worked for me!
Hi everyone I work for t-mobile and have a friend who works at the warehouse were most of the g1’s are being shipped out so good news I check my email this morning n all of the g1 orders are no longer on back order and will be shipped out way before the 10th on Nov so check the ups site to see when you will be getting it. I waiting for mines to but I get it after you guys get yours so let me know what you guys think
I pre-ordered my phone on the 19th of October, they promised a Nov 10th delivery date yet, as of the 8th I still don’t have a tracking number? I’ve waited three weeks already. I’d be pissed if I don’t get this phone by Monday. I’ve tried entering the mobile number on the Ups website but that doesn’t work.
