Seesmic Officially Goes Mobile Today

Svetlana Gladkova,

Seesmic mobile page screenshotThere’s some good news from the web video conversational service Seesmic that has really gained traction in the recent months among social media users. The news today is that Seesmic is officially mobile now.

Seesmic has had a mobile client for Windows Mobile devices for a while now: it was built by an independent developer and launched in the end of September. Of course the client has received some promotional help from Seesmic itself and the results are impressive as it has received more than 1,500 downloads in less than a month.

Today Seesmic offers something developed in-house by Loic Le Meur’s team - a special page customized for mobile experience of video conversations on Seesmic, m.seesmic.com. The functionality of the mobile page is very similar to what you can do on the usual desktop webpage of Seesmic but this one will fit your smartphone screen better. Here you can watch videos and all the conversations around individual videos, you can see profiles of people and all your timelines when you log in. Definitely a good idea that will let you spend some time watching videos from your friends when stuck in a traffic jam, for example.

Here’s the video from the team describing the new mobile Seesmic page functionality:

  • Thanks Svetlana,

Just one think: seesmob.com is done by Alan Chaesco, a great guy! We have release a Nokia Symbian application, that you could download from m.seesmic.com using your Nokia.

  • @mik: Thank you for the comment and sorry I have not put Alan’s name in the post, thought it was not particularly relevant. And I’ll be sure to try your Symbian application as well when I get a chance to play with a Nokia.
