SocialMedian Launches Election Site Supported by Washington Post and Guardian

Today SocialMedian announces a new election website that is intended for users to easier track and discuss all the news related to the upcoming presidential elections in the US. SocialMedian is a service that aggregates news submitted by its users and adds visibility to some stories based on how popular they are among users.
The new election site announced today works by aggregating various election-related feeds from news sources as well as those submitted by users when they as relevant to the election. The social functionality of SocialMedian allows for users to not only consume news but help some pieces get more visibility and engage in discussions right on the site as well.
In addition to traditional news sources and blogs, the new site allows users to add feeds from their own blogs, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, and other sites as additional sources of political news. So on Election 2008 site of SocialMedian you will be able to track you favorite political newspapaers and blogs along with updates from some Twitter users, photos from Flickr and videos from YouTube that are deemed to be important by the community.
In addition to launching the website itself, SocialMedian also offers web publishers big and small to use a special widget and display it on their own sites or blogs to feature the most popular or hot content. Today SocialMedian is making the announcement with support from the Washington Post and the Guardian as they will be the first publishers to use the widget on their sites.
