Contact That Owner – Idea So Useful And Simple That It Is Strange It Has Not Been Invented Before

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you totally need to contact an administrator of this or that website you happen to be on for some reason and could not find any contact information like a contact form or email address you could use to do just that?
I personally can think of a few cases where I myself happen to be in such a situation. First of all, sometimes I land on a site that shamelessly uses the content I create here on Profy without giving me any attribution and even monetizing my content with some ads of their own. Fighting back when attacked by sploggers is a widely popular topic many blogs are dedicated to but there’s at least one thing content owners agree on: they all want to have their content removed from such content stealing websites. And here is where the problem frequently arrives: sploggers are rarely willing to share their contact details for obvious reasons as they are not exited about the idea of angry copyright owners emailing them dozens of time per day.
Another reason to contact owners of various websites will be when you work in PR and only begin to build your database of media people or when you work in sales and want to contact owners of sites that are among your target audience. Of course in such situations it is much better to spend some time on the website of the company you want to contact and see how exactly they want to be contacted about issues you want to contact them about.
But anyway there are obviously situations when you just have to contact a website owner but have no tools to do that. So when I bumped into a new startup named ContactThatOwner I could not help but think that the idea is so very much needed that it is definitely strange the startup is only launched now and not years before.
So ContactThatOwner is a new tool that is intended to help you do just one thing - contact an owner of any website when such contact details are not available on the site itself. The site works by automatically querying the domain provider for a contact email and is free to use (it is supported with advertising).
Everything a user is supposed to do here on ContactThatOwner is enter a URL of the site he needs the contact details for and wait for the contacts to send an email to that site owner - for whatever reason.
Of course it is quite obvious that there is a huge problem about this service as they only find emails the website owners used to register the domain and not the emails address usually associated with the site - something located on the same domain and exactly where the website owner usually expects to get emails related to this particular site.
This obviously makes the site mostly useful for when there are absolutely no other ways to contact the site’s owner publicly offered on the site itself. But that certainly does not mean ContactThatOwner is not worth bookmarking - just in case you really want to contact the owner of a site who prefers to keep their contact details a secret for some reason.
