Remember playing the "telephone game" as a child? You'd stand in a line or sit in a circle and pass messages from one person to the next, whispering into an ear. At the end of the line, the message was usually so garbled from the first person as to be unrecognizable from what it began as. So goes the tech blogosphere these days. |

A human rights group is suing Yahoo Inc. on the grounds that the company assisted China's communist government with torture and dropping dime on dissidents. The World Organization for Human Rights USA seeks unspecific damages and Yahoo's participation in securing the release of the dissidents. Just after I complimented them on being more internationally educated and more refined than Google too, it never fails. |

I just finished an article at Yahoo! News by Michael Liedtke of AP. The article describes a new search engine designed to appeal to aging baby boomers. Cranky.com processes search requests from the point of view of older users. Basically, the new search engine provides fewer results so that older users will not be overwhelmed with all the data. Google and other advanced search engines really provide way too much data for older people to see and process. There is an aggravation aspect to this factor, [...] |
