ekudoz - A Nice Thought

Phil Butler

I ran across a simple little site called ekudoz the other day. The news site had been covered on a couple of other notable blogs, and I did not immediately think that it was all that news worthy. Given some comments on other stories about the relative "newsworthiness" of startups, I decided to tell our readers about ekudoz because they have a right to know.
Ekudoz is a simple little release, ostensibly designed to make the world a little better place [...]

iStalkr Go Go 2.0 Gadget

Phil Butler

I got clued to a pretty cool gadget called iStalkr last night, so this morning I thought our readers should have the look at this new startup. The site is a feed aggregator in Beta testing that is supposed to stalk others obviously. I don't want to be too hard on the "spanking" new tool but it is pretty stark at the moment even by the developer's standards.
iStalkr is intended to be a livestream RSS and ATOM feed tracking device that creates a [...]

Agester Warning - Content Not Consumable

Phil Butler

I have had the great pleasure to visit some of the most innovative web sites, test the most sought after Beta releases and talk with a few of the most influential personalities of Web 2.0. I feel fortunate sincerely.
Then there is always the other side of the coin, or the one we often do not burden our readers with. That would be the sites and personalities not worth wasting the micro-voltage output of a CPU to visit.
I found [...]

Latest Joost Update

JoostTM newest version making great -??greater!
I originally posted a review of my Beta testing of JoostTM??back in January. Back then I had a few problems that appeared to be connected with my older and NOT wiser PC. I downloaded a newer version of the program V-0.7.4.1 which contained even more user friendly UI aspects, and I suspect, something that makes worn out computers run the video better.
Some new features of the latest version are: displayed channel numbers that can [...]

Joost Beta - Glimpse The Future

Phil Butler

o  We Squeezed In!
Two of my colleagues, Svetlana Gladkova, and Paul Glazowski, have delivered posts on what was termed “The Venice Project“. Svetlana gave me the opportunity to test drive Joost in order to overcome time differences to get our readers the news quickly. What happened next occurred between 6:00PM and 8:00PM Central.
We were invited to participate in the Beta testing of Joost, and I set out to visit the site and download the program. The program downloaded flawlessly, and startup was abundantly [...]

Predictions, predictions…

Paul Glazowski

We’re hours away from 2007 and nary a list of predictions has cropped up here on Profy. What gives? Maybe our dubious overlords (I’m not sure what the secrecy clause in the contract said about mentioning the gods of Web 2.0 openly. Oh well.) have instituted a crack down I never received notice of. Or, maybe, just maybe, we’re trying to cover our bases by preempting a year of “Ha-ha, you were wrong!” with silence. Whatever the case maybe, I [...]
