SubmitYourVote: Pretty UI for a Crowded Space

Cyndy Aleo-Carreira

I seem to be developing a specialty here writing about online polling sites. The latest entrant into the space is SubmitYourVote, a new social polling site with a very pretty interface.
SubmitYourVote has all the hallmarks of a Web 2.0 site: logo with beta status, minimalist site design, and, of course, the social aspect of creating your own polls, voting on other polls, commenting and tagging of polls, and a nifty Ajax feature that takes your polling results and places them [...]

Twiigs: Social Polling That Makes Sense

Cyndy Aleo-Carreira

I know what you're thinking: I'm reviewing yet another social polling site, and the world can't POSSIBLY need another polling service. I've already reviewed BetsGoWild, MegaBuzz, and Sodahead, so why bother with another site that seems to do the same thing without some of the glitz and glamour? PowerReviews Exits Private Beta as Buzzillions

Cyndy Aleo-Carreira

A month ago, I took a look at PowerReviews, which at the time was still in private beta. Since then, they've made a lot of changes to the site, changed the name to Buzzillions , and done a soft beta launch, with the big push coming next Tuesday.
In an email to private beta users, Jim Morris, VP of Customer Experience explained many of the changes:

"too busy, too many links" - We streamlined the home page, reorganized the categories, [...]

BetsGoWild - Social Polling Meets Vegas

Cyndy Aleo-Carreira

BetsGoWild is the latest entrant in the social polling arena, blending user-created polls with a Vegas-style payout. Much like social polling sites MegaBuzz and Sodahead.com (which we recently reviewed), BetsGoWild allows users to create “bets” based on any topic they choose, ranging from current events items such as the outcome of sporting events to personal items, such as betting whether a pair of users can quit smoking in a month.
The site gives each new registrant a set number of “WildBucks” [...]

MegaBuzz and Sodahead.com: Social Polling for the Masses

Cyndy Aleo-Carreira

Ever wonder if anyone else is thinking what you're thinking? Wonder no more with two recent launches that bring polling and community together.
MegaBuzz, which beta launched 20 March, creates a game framework around its polls to create more buzz. Users can create their own polls or picks, gaining points for others taking polls or making choices in your picks, with any buzz item created that gets 500 or more players earning an automatic prize. Other ways to win prizes are [...]
