It should be unstated by now that websites and media groups will never be free of torment from record labels and music protection groups. In fact, I hardly give a moment's notice to "news" about some website or college student coming under prosecution from the RIAA or one of its many cronies. |

Streamzy is a newly launched service, founded by 21-year olds Jesse Chemtob and Brian Krantz, which is best described as a streaming media search engine. You would have thought that companies involved in selling digital media (especially those with DRM content) would have learned a lesson after the fiasco Google went through when the company decided to close its video marketplace. That was last August, when Google abruptly cut off access to the videos that many customers had rightfully purchased or rented. Then, after heavy internet criticism, all customers received an apology and full refunds. |

Limewire is trying to follow in the footsteps of P2P music download cousin Napster by adding a store to its P2P download service. The company says the store will be connected to the P2P service it offers, but does not specify how yet. The music being offered in the store is compatible with all major MP3 players, including the iPod. |
