Yahoo! CEO Terry Semel announced he is stepping down and that Co-founder Jerry Yang will be assuming the every day duties of chief executive. On A Windows Safari With Apple

On Monday Apple made its Safari Web browser available for Windows based PC's. Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple made the announcement at the company's World Wide Developers Conference opening up yet another venue for competition with rival Microsoft. Facebook - Free Classifieds With Profiles

The 22 million users of Facebook will have access to free classified ad listings as the social networking site enters into competition with traditional newspapers and online companies like Craigslist. The company is targeting the high school and college segment of their user base to offer yet another feature that will appeal to this demographic. The Daily Reel - What You Should Watch

The Daily Reel has just raised seed round funding from Boston's Prism VentureWorks, which is reported to be in the high six-figure range. The LA based startup also had over 200,000 unique sign-ups last month according to co-founder and CEO Jeff Stern. The ad supported site's function is to sort through the maze of online video and recommend sites to users. Borders-Waldenbooks Go Web 2.0

High overhead and falling revenues are causing many traditional businesses to refocus their targeted sales platforms. Another example, the Borders Group is discontinuing its arrangement with Amazon.com for the sale of their books. Borders plans to close half of its Waldenbooks stores and sell off most of its 73 overseas stores.

Google just can't seem to do anything right lately. Today all the news is about Viacom's suit seeking $1 billion in damages from Google and YouTube for international copyright infringement.

Next New Networks is a new startup by former MTV and Nickelodeon executives Herb Scannell and Fred Seibert. The cable TV innovators are getting back together to start a series of video web sites that they have dubbed “micro-networks”.
