Google Docs Mobile Now Available, But Unfinished

Michael Garrett

Today, Google Blogoscoped has announced that the mobile version of Google Docs is now available to users of the online office suite.
Last month, it was discovered that there were mobile-designed pages available with a link leading to docs.google.com/m, but at the time the URL resulted in a 404 error.
The Google Help Center has posted that the only devices officially supported are the iPhone and Blackberry devices while only mentioning for owners of other mobile devices that "a good rule of [...]

Office Live Workspace: Microsoft’s (Late) Answer To Google Apps

Michael Garrett

Google Apps has been far more successful than Microsoft could have imagined, which I am sure is why their reaction to Google's enterprise agenda was less than impressive.
Now, Microsoft seems to have realized the benefits of the web, finally bringing its Office Suite online with Office Live Workspace, which is currently running in beta to a limited number of people.
With Google Apps, Zimbra (recently purchased by Yahoo!), and Zoho having already built an online following, is it too late for [...]

Leslie Poston

There is a new online application suite being released that offers a complete solution for the small to medium business. It's called LongJump, and it is being brought to you by the folks behind Relationals. LongJump contacted Profy and set up an interview with LongJump CEO and founder Pankaj Malviya. LongJump offers a wide array of web applications [...]

With this one move, Yahoo has now entered into the [...]

Michael Garrett

Google Apps has been presenting more and more of a threat to the Microsoft Office suite, and Microsoft is well aware although their recent actions are what I would consider lame.
Google is not wasting any time in providing one feature that Office provides, but Google Apps currently lacks. Presentations.
PowerPoint has long been the standard for creating slideshow presentations, but Google is directly targeting this software's market with a new web-based presentation application, known as Presently.
The Enquirer has reported today that [...]

Facebook Gets an Office Suite

Michael Garrett

Facebook was originally designed around college students, and college students spend a lot of time studying and doing homework, correct? Perhaps that is the reason that Zoho, the masterminds behind online applications such as Writer (word processing), Sheet (spreadsheets) and Show (presentations), decided to make use of the new Facebook API to bring these very programs to the world of Facebook.
Zoho has an entire line of office productivity applications available at its home page, but Writer, Sheet and Show [...]
