We’ve covered the MyStrands social music service/network several times here at Profy. First in December of 2006. Then in late January, when we spoke of several enhancements made. Then in mid-March, when MyStrands tacked on a nifty mobile component to its repertoire. And, lastly, in early September, when we brought you word of the launch of MyStrands TV.
Now it’s safe to say the company (we presume it’s past the “startup” stage) is doing quite well for itself. [...]

If you’re familiar with MyStrands, you know that its connection to PartyStrands and the online community created by the two make for an interesting mix. You definitely can enjoy an iTunes or Windows Media or Winamp existence alone, but with MyStrands you can share recommendations for albums and singles with lots of people. Previously spoken about on Profy, PartyStrandswas introduced to the world – and its clubs and bars – as a way to involve those present in a communal conversation through SMS messages, which would be emblazoned upon big screens placed throughout a room or hall. PartyStrands bore other features in addition to their hallmark technology, but enhancing the club going experience with a bit of Web 2.0 was (and still is) their main trade.

After Paul Glazowski published a post about partyStrands, I had a chance to talk to people from Oregon-based MyStrands – the company behind partyStrands and other projects. I have had a talk with Gabriel Aldamiz-echevarria, Vice President of Communications, and Trevor Legwinski, Marketing Manager for PartyStrands.
