I don't think there's a single person in the world that feels bad because Google hasn't been able to get its paws on Facebook, the current top social networking site. Try as Google might, Facebook 's Zuckerburg has no intentions of partaking in any sort of affair with the search engine behemoth. |

Yahoo Heads Back to the Hopefully Waiting Arms of… AOL?

It seems clear that the Yahoo board is delusional. There is just no other way to describe it aside from out-of-touch, clueless, or just plain crazy. They turned down the Microsoft offer. Fine, we get it. Big bad Microsoft would cramp your free-wheeling style that has had you, the first big search and portal online, cowering in the shadow of Google . You can't get bought by Google because everyone from the EU to the US to the kindergartners at [...] |

It was quite bizarre actually. There they were, about four or five big-name handset manufacturers – not to mention the creators of widely implemented mobile operating systems – none of which had anything close to an alluring answer to Cupertino’s finest new gadgetry. |
AOL News Gets Revamp, Readers Sigh Relief

I’ll be honest. Apart from the odd link on Digg, I never visit AOL. I’m sure it’s a descent place to visit as far as Web portals go. I doubt it offers any worse an experience than Yahoo! or MSN, anyhow. Today, I ventured there once again. A Reuters piece published on ZDNet highlighted some changes at AOL News, and so I went. No particular story to read there. Just paid a visit. And, you know, it wasn’t so bad. |
