Update: Well, we managed to come it at just a tiny bit over an hour. We're doing better at cranking through the topics! Duncan claims he's on some type of medication that gave him a sunny disposition, but there was enough cussing in the after-show to let us know he wasn't overtaken by a pod person. It's Thursday again, and time for Things You Can't Say About the Internet, my weekly podcast on Talkshoe with WinExtra's Steven Hodson and The Inquisitr's Duncan Riley. I was late getting our agenda together this week, so we are waiting for Duncan to wake up and approve it, but tentatively, our topics tonight will be:

Twitter's latest fail, and should Twitter actually be renamed Fail to save us time?
Weblebrity and delusions of grandeur
Yahoo, Microsoft, and now Xobni losing execs, what gives?
How many open standards and data portability organizations do we really need?

I'm going to do my very best to keep it to an hour this week so we aren't all blathering into the early morning hours. As usual, Things You Can't Say About the Internet is on at 11 PM Eastern, 8 PM Pacific on Thursday, 1 PM Friday Melbourne time on Talkshoe.

Against our better judgment, we are back at Talkshoe tonight for the third-ish installment of Things You Can't Say on the Internet, with me, Duncan Riley of The Inquisitr, and Steven Hodson of WinExtra and Mashable.

Tentative topics for this evening include:

Why Steve Jobs gets away with everything short of murder and maybe that, too
Does anyone still care about the menage a trois of Microsoft, AOL, and Yahoo? And who'll end up in bed with whom at the end?
The resurrection of the email newsletter: is it really just a blog with no comments?
Social media "experts:" is there really any such thing?

Of course, once Steven Hodson gets started on his Apple rant, we may not have time for anything else, but tune it at 11 PM Eastern, 8 PM Pacific tonight.

Updated: Sorry about the technical issues, everyone! We still have no idea what happened with Talkshoe, but we managed a Skype call with broadcast to Ustream as a kludged solution. I'll post the recording as soon as we (more like Steven Hodson) get it all glued together since we had to restart the call twice, but thanks to Jordan Golson of The Industry Standard for joining us on the call, and we'll be back next week with hopefully fewer tech problems!

Well, it looks like my experimental podcast with Duncan Riley of The Inquisitr and Steven Hodson of WinExtra and Mashable is going to be a weekly show. This week we've bumped the day up so that Duncan can have something he calls a weekend, so the second episode of Things You Can't Say About the Internet will be today! Topics we'll be discussing include the one topic we didn't get to yet, as well as new stories from this week:

what we expect of companies like Google and Yahoo operating in China
the hidden (and based on this week, blatant) racism and misogyny that seems to exist in the tech blogosphere
Duncan Riley and Scott McClellan (he couldn't possibly think Hodson and I would have missed this one)
and, if time allows, since the show is actually Friday in Aussie time, we might let Duncan blather a bit about his new iPhone

Tune in tonight at 11 PM Eastern, 8 PM Pacific, 1 PM Friday in Australia, 10 AM Friday in Novosibirsk, and well, if you can't figure out where your time zone in there, you can always listen to it after we post the show. Again, most of us try to behave, but there may be a wee bit of off-color language. Especially if Duncan starts bragging on his iPhone.

For those of you who missed it, the very first episode of Things You Can't Say About the Internet is here for your listening pleasure. Most of us did a good job keeping our adult language use to a minimum, and discussion topics included Twitter clones, FriendFeed and democratization of meme tracking, why everyone should have a full feed for those reading via a feedreader, and then some rambling about user privacy concerns.
