This certainly isn’t the most pressing news of the day, but I figured I’d give it a mention anyway, considering how absolutely vital it is for the future of Web 2.0 that the largest social network on the Internet today actually look half presentable. |

Monetizing 2.0: Will It Stick?
by
on August 09, 2007

There are days when I think I should have a t-shirt that says "I survived Web 1.0" so that I'm easily identified as a bit of a skeptic when it comes to the next wave of cool new toys. My husband worked for a 1.0 start-up for five years. Many of our friends also worked for start-ups, often moving from start-up to start-up like tiny ants hopping from one domino to another as they fell during the dot-com bust. So [...] |

WebAppSale - The Marketplace for Web Apps and Widgets

News Corp. bought Myspace two years ago for $580 million. Google bought YouTube for $1.65 billion less than a year ago. Yahoo! offered $1 billion for Facebook, but was ultimately turned down. Even the domain name Vodka.com was sold for $3 million last year. What exactly am I trying to get at here? The fact that there is a lot of money to be made on the internet through the sale of web services and domain names. Perhaps that is even what spurred [...] |

We are now at a point at which only a week, one heavy with anticipation, separates consumers from the official US release of a product millions eagerly wish to own. The iPhone. And already, a developer has established an application directory assembled specifically for users of the device. It’s called AddFone. |
I Gave Up To Twitter. Have You?
by
on June 10, 2007

I was laughing at Twitter, I thought it was absolutely useless and saw no sense at all. But after at least 10 people asked how could I, a blogger, avoid twittering I finally gave up. It proved easier than I thought and takes less time (check this post by Robert Sanzalone on twittering from Skype, this makes using Twitter incredibly easy). So after I found a way to Twitter and get updates from people I'm interested in easily I was [...] |

The Spinlet API features a library of customization tools that enable seamless integration of media while providing “mashup” capability and enhanced content portability. The current Spinlets available for testing include YouTube, Flickr, Digg, Twitter, Craigslist and Google Maps with [...] |
Twiigs: Social Polling That Makes Sense
by
on May 05, 2007
|
I know what you're thinking: I'm reviewing yet another social polling site, and the world can't POSSIBLY need another polling service. I've already reviewed BetsGoWild, MegaBuzz, and Sodahead, so why bother with another site that seems to do the same thing without some of the glitz and glamour? After all, Twiigs doesn't have the rankings and profile pages and points rewards that the other sites have, and it just launched in April, leaving its beta status just barely [...] |
