Is Web 2.0 Just Numbers?

Phil Butler

Bebo outranked Google, but does the fate of Web 2.0 hinge on numbers?
Web 2.0 is such an interesting subject for discussion and investigation. Lately I have been a little focused on some credibility issues we should all consider in evaluating sites, startups and other elements of our communal experience.
One big problem I have is the term "unique registered users", because it implies that a site has say 300,000 dedicated regular people who go there. Sites often try to validate [...]

We have our eyejot on you!

Phil Butler

We have seen some innovative and exciting services and products come out of the DEMO 07 conference in the last few days, and now we got the opportunity to test yet another. Eyejot.com is a comprehensive video messaging platform suited to personal and business application. The site offers users the ability to create, send and receive video messages without spam. Mixpro is a personal publishing tool that allows users to manage their video, photo and audio files over any number of web sites. The site offers a reliable and free utility for people to distribute and manage multimedia on [...]

Robert Sanzalone

Review: Widgetbox - depository and interface for those producing web widgets and for those who are wishing to easily place web widgets on their blog or website.
The first time I heard about a “widget” was back in university when studying econimics. The supply and demand of a generic company producing a generic product called “widgets”. In the past couple of years, this “generic product” has moved to the computer realm with Apple leading the way with the ability to produce [...]

MySpace partners with Feedburner!

Delta - Tech.co.nr

When Fox starts to partner with the likes of Feedburner, you know that Web 2.0 is making an impact. The owners of MySpace, Fox Interactive have confirmed a widget development project at the Widgets Live conference. In addition to this, an alliance is to be formed with Feedburner, the highly successful feed creation and management program used by many top names. All of the b5media blogs, Profy, Tech.co.nr and more have their feeds powered by FeedBurner, mainly because of it’s [...]
